  1. Seek therapy.

A black friend of mine made it in a redneck community.

  2. I have no idea.  Its hard to know if/how much of a factor it was in hiring decisions.  No one ever suggested to me in my working life that my race helped me.

  3. being white was only part of the equation, I also dressed nicely, kept a clean hair cut, showed up on time and ready to work, didn't spend time bsing with coworkers when there was plenty of work to be done

  4. The white privelege? This question seems rather racist! I'm not white and I've gone through life fine!

  5. It hasn't    I am a white female working in an atmosphere of MEN.  All races.  I work my but of.  Take pride in being a woman and embrace life.  The key.....I don't see color.  I see my life as my life and blame nobody.

  6. People need to "own their world" and quit blaming others for their failures, lack of good jobs, lack of respect, lack of advantages.

I'm a white female holding down a upper management position that I worked my a$$ off to get. I showed up for school everyday, didn't cut classes, paid attention in school, did the work, learned to speak and dress properly, didn't get knocked up at 16, didn't have 5 kids by 5 different daddies, didn't let drugs get a hold on me, and worked my way up the ladder.

I didn't expect things handed to me because I was a female, didn't whine when had to work 2 jobs to get by, didn't get government assistance or free schooling because of my race.

In other words.... I owned my world. People need to take responsibility for themselves no matter what color or ethnicity.

I hire people of color everyday and I pay no regard to skin color. But, I take great umbrage when I fire someone for theft, laziness, absenteeism, tardiness, insubordination or inability to do the job and then they claim racial discrimination. What about people of color that have achieved great success...to what do they attribute their success?

Sorry, I don't buy the term 'white priviledge'. Sounds like a cop out to me. The only priviledge there is is to get out there and make your way in the world. But you have to get off you a$$ to do it. Own your world!

  7. It hasn't. In fact, thanks to affirmative action, it has hindered me.

I believe that race should play no part in anything in life.

There should be no special scholarships, schools, programs, associations, etc for ANY race, period.

If the human race could move past skin color, we would be so much better for it and it's a shame that more progress has not been made toward eradicating the bigot-ted thinking of some people.

  8. White privelege is a myth ... except for the rich.

  9. I don't know if it has but if it has then I have been given a benefit of the doubt.  Part of that is also dressing and acting like people expect people to act.  When I have dressed and acted immature with some weird swagger I have been greeted with skepticism.
