  1. It hasn't. It's got worse increased food bills, fuel prices.

  2. It has not. It went from bad to worse with escalating food prices and ever more expencive travel and utilities.

  3. Well it has shown me all too well that I need to stand on my own two feet and not to rely on this poxy government for any help whatsoever.

    The harder you work in this country the more you are penalised. The UK must be the only civilised country in the world that does not reward people for working hard throughtout their wokring lives.

    Own private pension;

    Own private health care;

    Own provision for old age;

    Own house;

    And own nothing at the end of the day under New Labour.

    Oh the fat cats will have made a fortune and those claiming benefits will be better of than me in their old age and will get practically free health care as well in old age. Whereas I will have to sell my childrens inheritance to pay for mine should I need it.

    Oh yes I've fared very well under New Labour...not!

  4. you joking are you? Improved?????

  5. are you ****ing kidding me? How many people have decided to emigrate whilst Labour have been in power?

  6. NO. Only the lives of New Labour MP's and their quango cronies have improved, by voting and fiddling expenses to make their friends, and themselves RICH.

  7. Mmm, my life has gone downhill since New Labour took over. I had high hopes when I discovered that a fellow Scot was given the job of running the country. My future pension has been devastated and my mum and dad, who have worked all of thier lives, just want to give up as they see no future at all!! I'm not really a political buff, but the only folk who seem to have benefited from this New Labour thingy are the lazy gits who are intent on grabbing all they can from us hard working tax payers. It's about time that the government made a serious effort to weed out all the eejits who have no intention of helping themselves and are happy for everybody to pay thier way for them!! I have worked full time since I left school and get totally peed off because I know that I am contributing to the lazy sods who cannot be bothered to go out and look for work!!!

  8. I cannot think of a single way in which my life hasn't gotten worse due to financial problems. I hate how this country has changed for the worse in the last decade.

  9. Categorically No.

  10. This is a joke...yes?? !!

  11. not it f**king well has not! bring back Maggie!!!!

  12. No, not for me, Blue raven said it all

  13. new labour is a farce people voted labour as it was once a political party for the working man. we have been robbed of our vote.

    firstly we had b-liar who was so far up bushes @rse he couldn't think for himself (looser), A war that should have never been, and a chancellor who sold all our gold reserves to line labours pockets.

    secondly the chancellor became prime minister and now you, i , and the whole country is in a mess all created by "NEW LABOUR" what a farce.

    ITS ALL B-LIAR AND BROWNS FAULT AND ALL THE MUPPET'S WHO RUN THIS COUNTRY!!!!!!!!

  14. As usual the only lives to inprove are the politician's....they s***w the public for all they are worth.

  15. I think Danor got it right on this one...

  16. better than under the Tories, I would think

  17. When I find the answer I'll let you know. Until then I'll keep praying for a general election.

  18. It hasn't.

    Because I actually have the audacity to have a good work ethic and work hard for my money, I am taxed to high heaven as is my husband. Because of the shoddy state of the NHS I am currently in the process of a SIX YEAR lawsuit against the NHS for negligence which resulted in my son being severely disabled. I would now not trust the NHS as far as I could throw them, and now have to pay for my own private healthcare.

    I refuse to send my children to sub standard schools which this government currently provide in the area I live in, and thanks to their rubbish schools for disabled children, I have to pay to send my children to private schools so they can get a decent education.

    My husband and I also have to pay for our own private pension.

    Things have not got better for us at all. The sooner this sorry lot are gone the better, not content with bleeding us dry they wish to impose ID cards and spy on us.

    The whole concept of New Labour disgusts me, whoever heard of a government that rewards the scroungers, lazy and idle and punishes ordinary people that work hard? I would LOVE to have my council tax paid for me, money given to me for not doing anything, but instead with esculating food and fuel prices and the general high cost of livng, I have to work myself to death to pay for essential things.

    My life probably would have improved if if my kids didn't have the same father, I was single and unemployed.

  19. It didn't.

    Under the SNP, on the other hand....

  20. Are you serious? My quality of life has just gone down! (& taxes up)

    Edit - from a previous question I posted, cheekybear rightly said it has improved (legally) if you happen to be g*y - but everyone still has to pay the bills & compete for jobs!

    Edit - what went wrong - they are delusional, they believe their own sound bites - they do not live where I & the majority of pre 97 UK residents live (what ever colour) !

    Intergration is a bullshit myth now!

  21. It has improved not only under New Labour but under every government administration since the 1950s.

    My family at least has come a long way since my father was a shipyard worker living in the Gorbals and I was a snotty nosed kid in short trousers causing mayhem on a still being constructed council estate.

    In material terms we are all better off than the average joe in the 1940s in terms of quality of life and access to  cars, consumer goods, foreign holidays, health care and education.

    While peoples' perceptions may differ the reality of every day life for most people is very different from that portrayed in the media. These things are all relative and depend on what you compare them to and which particular political axe you choose to grind.

    .

  22. No it is a great deal worse !

    "things can only get better." was a reference to their life style not the life style of the population of the UK.
