Question:

How have gas prices changed the way you live?

Fortunately for us my husband's company pays for him to gas up his vehicle during the week. But as far as long distance traveling, it's affected me that I can't go home to see my family AS MUCH as I used to. We have some friends who work minimum wage and have watched them suffer severely. We try to help out when we can. Think they'll ever raise minimum wage as the price of everything else keeps going up?

  1. i ride my bike to closer places a lot more. the food prices have hit me harder than the gas prices. it's getting pretty expensive to feed a group of teenagers.

  2. Obviously, not driving as much :P

  3. I bought a honda.

  4. it hasnt. still eating dinner out. driving to work.

  5. I find myself taking commissions on sales of artwork that I pose for just to make ends meet. How about you?

  6. Not really.  We still do the same but we have been going out less. We just move money around I guess.

  7. Not really, at least no worse than parenthood. That REALLY changed the way we live!

I let you know about the gas, after we get our new Skeeter or Nitro bass boat, next year. :D

  8. My husband and I used to like to drive everywhere on the weekends. Now we mostly stay at home. I also find myself putting more aside for gas than I used to just in case I need the extra cash.

  9. Not to much, we just combine trips or  I plan a certain day a week to do all of my errands.. But gas has gone down a quite a bit so that is nice..

  10. If I have a bunch of places I need to go I route them so I am not back tracking and spending less gas and time getting to them.

  11. Um my boss pays me 40 dollars as a gas allowance a day so it doesnt affect my job thankfully...and on the weekends i just go to a friends house and drink so i dont have to drive =)...i dont go out as much i havent gone to the movies in a while and i spend a good part of my paycheck because i just love driving (about 20% of my paycheck goes to gas= 500 bucks a month plus the gas allowance)

  12. I have tried to stop going as much, but sometimes it is unavoidable.

Because gas has gone up it has made everything else go up which mean money is tighter and adds stress and that means me and my wife can get upset with one another easier.
