  1. By diking land once covered by the sea.

As the name already states, most of the Netherlands is below sealevel and the dikes keep the water out. Next to that we have also 'won' land from the water, by removing the water from inside the dikes. This used to be done by the famous windmills, some are still in use for that purpose.

  2. If interacting is the question, the Dutch are trying to get back in balance by taking countermeasures. Nevrtheless the are polluting and consuming more than the produce. Not as devastating as the USA but still.

Look at the 'global footprint"that gives you more information

  3. What is your question?

They have done a lot of damage... yes... but now that they KNOW what they did, they are trying to clean it up... Just like the rest of the world...

They were stupid and damaged their inviromentmt due to ignorance just like the rest of Europe and the US and currently Africa and most of South America just to name a few...

It is part of going from a 3rd or 2nd world country to a 1st world country...

Once you don't need to worry about SURVIVAL any more, you can start to focus on bettering your environment...

  4. C-diking land once covered by the sea
