How heavy ankle weights should i use??

ok i play basketball, and i wanna try out for my college soon. So i currently using 1.5 pounds on each ankle, so thats 3 pounds total. Im very fit, pretty muscular.. im 130 pounds 5'7. Who thinks i should upgrade to 2 pounds each ankle? cuz these feel kinda light, and i can jogg in them for a while lol...ok thanks

  1. You shouldn't. Jogging with weights on your ankles or wrists can lead to joint damage or tendinitis due to the stretching of ligaments. If you really want to have weights aid in your workout look into a weighted vest which keeps the weights near your core where they can't damage your legs.
