  1. 1- 2 lbs.....................

! oooooo lobster sounds sooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. The Nephropidae also comonly known as the lobster to lesser beings(that means you)

To better understand the weight of this creature, we must better understand its origins.

The European wild lobster, among whom is the royal blue lobster of Audresselles, is more expensive and rare than the American lobster but was always appreciated chiefly among the royal and aristocratic families of France and the Netherlands. Such scenes were depicted in Dutch paintings of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

In North America prior to the 20th century, local lobster was not a popular food. In the Maritimes, eating lobster was considered a mark of poverty. In some parts of the Maritime provinces of Canada, lobster was used as a fertilizer for farmers' fields, and a great deal of lobster was fed to slaves or the lower members of society. Outside of the rural outports lobster was sold canned, losing much of its flavour, which can be disguised if the lobster is dipped in drawn butter.

The reputation of lobster changed with the development of the modern transportation industry that allowed live lobsters to be shipped from the outports to large urban centres. Fresh lobster quickly became a luxury food and a tourist attraction for the Maritime provinces and Maine and an export to Europe and Japan where it is especially expensive.

The expense of eating lobster has led to supermarkets selling "faux lobster"; (which is clearly labeled as such), and it is made from fish (often pollock or other whitefish) that has been altered to look and taste similar to lobster. A few restaurants have gone so far as to sell "langostino lobster". Langostino translates into prawn, however the actual animal is, (more likely than not), a crab. Maine fishermen are upset that restaurants are passing off the fake as though is an actual lobster, (the spiny lobster is also called langouste). It is doubtful that the customers would be very happy to find out they are paying more for what is probably nothing more than a fancy-named crab. Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill sold a "Lobster Burrito" which was made from squat lobster, another shellfish which is also very similar to the crab.

P.S They are twice the half of their  weight

  3. the little ones taste better,go for a 1 pounder!!the bigger ones usually arent as tasty!!i usually get 2 little ones.my husbands treat of course!!

  4. THAT is very pricey

considering you only eat a little bit of meat as the rest is heavy shell.

  5. 2/3 lb in the uk

  6. A lobster is about 3-5 lbs.  We sell it for $10/lb.

  7. about 6 pounds

  8. 1 to 3 pounds in the U.S.

  9. Most restaurant lobsters are 1 pound to 1.25 pounds. Any bigger than that and they can get kind of tough (old age and so forth).

  10. 1 to 2.5 pounds   US

  11. Lobsters like anything else that grows can come in every size. A large lobster is great if you are sharing, but a small one is more comfortably consumed because you are going to have a salad and probably a baked potato.  And you are not eating the entire lobster (tail and claws and I'm not excited about the other stuff)  Largest one we've every order was 25 lbs (at Morton's in Chicago) and 6 people shared it and it was great but some of the group ate so much they got sick.  What a night that was!

  12. It depends if the lobster is whole or not.

however 30cm of complete lobster with claws and legs would be a pound and a half to two.

Im sure your restaurant would be happy to show you the lobsters before cooking and pick one of your choice, this way you can be sure they are still alive and fresh before cooking.

  13. probably between 1-10 pounds.

  14. Well I just weighed my brother and he is 150Ibs so there is your answer. Oooh I never knew he was sooooooo expensive

  15. like 88 pounds.

  16. not very heavy

  17. Only one way of finding out, Go in and look for yourself. In some cases, lobsters to look at are very deceiving.

Size matters, smaller they are the juicer larger can be tough.

Also one thing with crustation, heavier they are the more meat it has. Be it crab or lobster.

    Lobster mornay Hummmmmmmmm.  Good luck
