  1. nity to one hundred lbs, they ad weights to even up  the weight in the class

  2. They weigh 100-110 pounds. Most of them are anorexic and/or bulimic. They diet constantly, sit in sweatboxes to sweat off pounds of water weight before racing. They make themselves throw up and abuse diuretics. Basically, they dehydrate and starve themselves. Sometimes I wonder how they are alert and strong enough to ride.

  3. like 116-122,  they put weights on the saddles to make sure the jokeys weights are equal.

  4. 112-115....if you weight 117...they call you fat boy......

  5. 85-90 pounds

  6. 110 to 116lbs

  7. 1800 #

  8. Every jockey has fluctuations in his weight.  I'd say the average flat racing jockey weighs about 8 stone (112lbs) and the average jump jockey about 9 1/2 stone.

If you bare in mind that to run in the Classics (2,000 Guineas, 1,000 Guineas, Derby, Oaks and St Leger) the colts carry 9stone and the fillies 8-10, this weight is made up of the jockey, the saddle and the weight cloth. so it would be hard for a jockey over 8 1/2 stone to get many rides, apart fomr in handicaps.

Most jocekts struggle with their weight, they are not naturally so light and many are forced to give up competative riding because they can no longer make the lighter weights.  It is by no means an easy life!

  9. The average jockey weighs about 79 kg.

  10. The average flat racing jockey is about 110-116 pounds.

  11. Dangerously low. It's actually a huge problem in horse racing. The jockeys starve themselves as runway models do to be as light as possible. Anorexia and Bolemia are huge in the sport...
