  1. Only in Spain...

Either English or German would suit you much better as both are much more widely spoken throughout Europe.

  2. Didn't you just ask this question?  scroll down the page. It's still on the first page, I think.

Not very once you leave Spain.

  3. To be honest it is not as useful as what German and especially English would be

You may find that (of course outside of Spain) some people have taken Spanish at school and therefore have a basic grasp of it (especially as Spain is just a popular destination within Europe for a holiday).  However many will also struggle beyond the "Hello" "How are you" "I would like x beers" stage

Therefore English (which you obviously speak) will get you further within Europe, and German is also spoken as a second or third language within many countries.  Therefore if you wanted to learn a second language (other than English), I would say take German instead of Spanish.

  4. Really helpful if you're going to spain, but besides that, it's pretty useless because each country has their own language. (Swedish, Dutch, German, etc.) Although, my Swedish friend says most of the countries can speak some english, though most with heavy accents. I suggest you learn some building languages (like latin) seeings as everything derives from latin.

  5. only in Spain in the rest of the countries not very much a few people speak Spanish but English is very helpfully

  6. The most useful language that you can know while traveling through Europe is English. For every tourist spot, there is a 100% chance that someone will know English. While most locals will most likely know English as a second language, all the tourist attractions will have a person who can translate languages across the continent. Also, they will have Japanese translators as there are many Japanese people who travel through Europe.

Anyways, Spanish will be most helpful in Spain of course. You may be able to get some comparable words in Italy and Portugal.

  7. A lot if you're going to Spain! =)

  8. I dunno about Europe, but here in Massachusetts, I swear English is no longer the native tongue. LEARN ENGLISH!!!!!  ok enuf ranting  have a nice day
