Props can fly around 20k feet, Commercial Jets cruise around 35k feet, Military fighters can go up to 55k feet.

Small private planes 12,000-15,000 feet. Above 10,000 you should use oxygen so most small planes stay lower,unless crossing mountains.

well back before satellites they used the SR-71 Blackbirds can cruise at 80,000 feet and were used to collect photo's as a satellite would these days. It could it could survey 100,000 square miles per hour. It cruised at a speed of 3,529.56 km/h and the pilots wore space suits and it was wen they were 1st invented, then they started using them for astronauts. One major problem the plane had was that if the pilots ejected they would eject with the heat of 230 °C because of the speed the plane was going, and also the plane was made from titanium and heated over 500-1000 °C  problem 2 not 100% of the oxygen could be absorbed over 43,000 feet.

This is one of my favourite planes, invented in 1950's
