How high can a jumping spider junp?

I seen one that jumped about 18" which scared me when I was trying to see what it was ..eek !

about 7x their body length...must have been pretty big, that adds up to a 2 1/2 in. spider!!! I wouldn't want those jumping around my house.

I have heard of them jumping up to 3 feet possibly more. It is dependant on thier size.

I'm not sure that was a jumping spider.  They can jump a distance of several times their body length, but that is not straight up. I suspect that the spider may have had a single strand of web already attached some place and used it to propel it 18".
