My horse is in between 15.3 and 16 hh. He is built a little bit like a thoroughbred, and he is very leggy. He is in good shape and enjoys jumping. Juding by physical characteristics only, how high is he capable of jumping?

Here are some pictures, so you can see his conformation.

  1. i think even grade 1 jumping if he were trained properly.

i know somes1 australian riding pony who is 14.1 hh and he jumps grade 2 level.

  2. He can probably jump fairly high without a problem cause even 14 hand horses can jump pretty high for their size

  3. he could jump very high i would say

  4. i would say 3'6''  but really, he could go pretty high. it depends on the rider and his training

  5. i really depends how your horse's form is over the jumps.  if he is not very square with his front legs, then it would not be safe to jump him 3 foot and higher.  you should really ask someone who knows what they are talking about and has seen your horse jump before.

  6. It depends on you horse. I'd say 3 to 3'9", but it's hard to tell without knowing his age, health, fitness level, and amount of experience

  7. He could probably jump 4'0 but it all depends on his fitness, muscle tone etc. He could probalby jump higher see wat he  can jump comfortably.

    GOOD LUCK

  8. I don't know about yours because all horses are different but my 14h mare can jump 5ft upright and 4ft 9 upwards and 2ft across as a spread so you should be okay with it

  9. Sorry, dont mean to burst your bubble unless you are 6 ft tall that horse is not 16 hands....lol  Im not being mean just realistic. that horse is maybe 15 hands maybe 15.1.... I would just be careful about jumping too high, you should be able to judge how comfortable your horse is while jumping. I know horses that are 14.2 that can clear 4 to 5 ft but thats unusual. Dont take my post as mean just do not want you to expect your horse to do more than its capable of.
