The SR-71 Blackbird's service ceiling was 85,000 feet according to Wikipedia. However the highest flight for a self propelled jet aircraft was 123,000 ft (37.6KM) set in 1977. I'm unable to find the name or type of the aircraft that set the record.

Well, I am a Captain on a 737 for a major airline...We've had those things up to FL620, with oxygen of course! Got to love Class E airspace!

the sr-71 could travel up to 75,000 feet. It was rumored to go even higher, but it was never declassified to dispute the rumors.
