How high do my middle sets need to be?

I've been playing volleyball for eight years and I'm going into ninth grade. I've always been a setter and not to brag I'm pretty good. I just always need reminding on how high my middle sets need to be. I know I need to adjust to my hitter which I do, but what is the general height they need to be? I just need a reminder with volleyball tryouts coming up in a week, THANKS!!!

  1. It depends on your hitter, some approaches need a higher set and other don't.  If you run a short hit (1) then you need it right at the top of the net, right above the white.  Normal 2 would be 2 feet higher and if you're doing a 6 which is a backwards 1 then it would be the same as a 1.

Your coach and at try outs they will help you telling you about  your placement.

  2. Your ones should be a foot above the net, an X is 2ft above the net.. But if ur middle has problems ur coach is probably gonna help u fix it

  3. You're ones should be about a foot above the net (depending on the height or preference of the hitter) and you're two's should be about two feet above the net.  One thing that will make all the difference in try outs is showing your coaches you're going to work your butt off to be the best.  Find the middle hitters, talk with them, and ask them how they like to be set to.  Take these hitters to the net and practice if you can.  The better you know the hitters and the better they know you, the better of a team you are.

  4. I'm an all around hitter, and I like my setter to set like 1's and 3.1's in middle,4's or shoot's on outside.Back 1's and 4's on rightside. But your right, you do need to adjust to your hitters. It's just however advanced your hitters are.

  5. It all depends on what the hitter likes it and you there's different types of hits for middle (2s 1s 31s...).  But the basic ones are usually 2 or 2 1/2 feet.  It shouldn't be that high because it'll mess up their timing.  When your going to tryout, you should ask the middles where and how high they want them.  Good Luck!

  6. it depends on what the hitter likes. some like high balls some like quick balls. thats your job as a setter to find out and adjust to make it good for them, they have to work with you too though and know not every set will be perfect. and as for height the most general height you can give is above the tape cuz it really varies for every hitter

  7. It depends on the hitter but i would set a high ball about 3 feet above the net and a quick ball about a foot above the net

  8. it really depends on the hitter and how tall they are but normaly i would say 2 feet taller than the net
