  1. No matter how high you are, you have to be higher.

  2. short answer - The sky is just air.  You are touching it right now.

long answer - really deep water looks blue.  When you swim in it, do you ever wonder where the blue part is?  All of it is blue!

  3. At 8000 feet high you can touch the clouds

  4. Well, you cannot touch the sky. But, you can touch the air. If you want to reach the sky, you could join astronaut team.

  5. Silly, you don't touch the sky!!! You look at it and let it touch you.

Really, there is no answer to your question. When you look up, some things you see like clouds can be anywhere from 100 feet to 40,000 feet. You can see the moon which is a few hundred thousand miles away. You can see the sun which is 93 million miles away.

Our sun (93 million miles away) is also 8 light minutes away. The next nearest star is 4 light years away and you can easily see some stars that are over 400 light years away.

So 'the sky' doesn't have a single height and the objects in the sky have all kinds of heights.

    Hope that helps!

  6. You can't touch the sky; it's intangible.

  7. the sky... is huge.

no matter how high u go, u can only touch the clouds.

the sky...  if u go too high, u will reach space. if u dont go too high, u will only reach the clouds.

  8. i dont think you can

  9. Actually, we are in the lowest layer of it.  The Troposphere starts at the ground.  To an ant looking up, we would be high in the sky.

Definition of sky:  the atmosphere and outer space as viewed from the earth

    1) The troposphere is the first layer above the surface and contains half of the Earth's atmosphere. Weather occurs in this layer.  The troposphere is the lowest layer of the Earth's atmosphere. The air is very well mixed and the temperature decreases with altitude.

Air in the troposphere is heated from the ground up. The surface of the Earth absorbs energy and heats up faster than the air does. The heat is spread through the troposphere because the air is slightly unstable.

    2) Many jet aircraft fly in the stratosphere because it is very stable. Also, the ozone layer absorbs harmful rays from the Sun.

    3) Meteors or rock fragments burn up in the mesosphere.

    4) The thermosphere is a layer with auroras. It is also where the space shuttle orbits.

    5) The atmosphere merges into space in the extremely thin exosphere. This is the upper limit of our atmosphere.

  10. I like your question Toya, I gave you a star. Its hard to define just exactly "where" the sky is because it depends on your point of view.

My suggestion is to go outside, reach your arm out with your finger pointed upward, and "touch"

Heres more from the Web:The sky is the part of the atmosphere or of outer space visible from the surface of any astronomical object. It is difficult to define precisely for several reasons. During daylight the sky of Earth has the appearance of a deep blue surface, as the result of the air's scattering of sunlight. The sky is sometimes defined as the denser gaseous zone of a planet's atmosphere. At night the sky has the appearance of a black surface or region scattered with stars.

During the day the Sun can be seen in the sky, unless covered by clouds. In the night sky (and to some extent during the day) the moon, planets and stars are visible in the sky. Some of the natural phenomena seen in the sky are clouds, rainbows, and aurorae. Lightning and precipitation can also be seen in the sky during storms. On Earth, birds, insects, aircraft, and kites are often considered to fly in the sky. As a result of human activities, smog during the day and light radiance during the night are often seen above large cities (see also light pollution).

In the field of astronomy, the sky is also called the celestial sphere. This is an imaginary dome where the sun, stars, planets, and the moon are seen to be travelling. The celestial sphere is divided into regions called constellations.

  11. take lots of crack lol i dunno

  12. You are touching it right now.

    It's pretty soft.

It comes all the way down to the ground.

  13. Hi Toya,

As high as the kite &  a tad farther.  A toke will bring you higher & you'll be able to touch the the clouds (in my own world I can archieve this fete). Have a good Am. :0)

Addirional Details: jumping from cloud to cloud would be the ultimate high.

  14. In an old Star Trek episode, the title was "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky."  They were in what is called a "generational" space ship.

Jimmy Hendrix got high enough to touch the sky once, too.  Wrote a song about it.

Otherwise, "touching the sky" is a metaphor for a mind-altering experience that touches your spirit profoundly.

  15. you carnt, the sky is a human made concept and not a physical body
