  1. a hybrid will save you gas but they are still very expensive so it depends on how much you are willing to pay for a car.  for instance, if you are looking at lower end cars like around $15,000 because thats in your price range, spending the extra money on a hybrid will end up costing you more.  however if the cars you could potentially buy and are interested in are in the same price range as a hybrid then it may be worth getting.

heres another example, this one actually true.  I am a recent college grad, as are a lot of my friends.  We don't make a whole lot of money and we have a lot of student loans to pay back.  i drive an old saturn because thats what I could afford. its not great on gas but I am finished paying it off.  My friend bought a hybrid, he has roughly the same income/ budget as me.  he thought spending the extra money would save him in the long run, however because of car payments/insurance he is actually worse off.

  2. Don't buy a hybrid if the price of the car exceeds the savings on gas.

  3. Gas prices will hit the 4 dollar range, and sit a little above that.  Not looking at much more than 4.15 a gallon.  And yes, a hybrid is a good choice.  It''ll save you gas.  But I myself would buy a Volkswagon TDI Jetta.

  4. Yes, I think that it is in the long run.  It would help save the envroment in the process of saving you gas.

  5. How high?until the oil companies think they can't squeeze another penny out...

Note how hard they are working in washington to kill the ethanol business, before it can make them come back to earth......

  6. They (the greedy oil tycoons and everyone that buys stock in oil) are reaming us to get used to paying $4.00 a gallon. What gets me is that there is no oil shortage at all just greedy bas_ards that can't get enough money!Hybrid cars sound like a good idea if they were priced low enough to afford to buy. Look at the diesel gas prices. Remember when diesel gas was lower than regular and everyone started buying diesel vehicles. Now look at the diesel gas prices! Makes me want to puke!

  7. Were around $4.15 in Chicago. Some even higher. Just for regular.

  8. i think they,ll go well above 4 bucks a gallon this summer ,and yes right now hybrids are looking pretty good to everyone, even though the mileage isn't as high as the rated it to be a hybrid would still be a good investment in the long run,you would save a lot of money hopefully, but im hoping their wrong on what gas prices will hit, that will hurt a lot of people if that happens, good luck.

  9. A hybrid car saves you gas in the long run.

  10. Yes, definitely should go hybrid. Toyota Prius, and the Honda Civic are two of the best out there.

  11. Goldman Sachs (a leading commodities trading agency on wall street)

PREDICTS GASOLINE WILL COSTS BETWEEN 6 and 7 DOLLARS in Summer of 2010.

Two years ago they predict 4 dollar a gallon gasoline and 120 dollar a barrel oil for summer of 2008.

    THEY WERE DEAD ON.

    WAKE UP AMERICA.

Um, the warning signs have been out there for years.  Too bad too many Americans were such blind sheep and listened to GW Bush, Rush Limbag, and their type. Environmentalists, liberals and economists have said for over a decade this calamity was coming.  The right convinced Americans it was all liberal propaganda (like they are with global warming today).  Remember when they said Liberals were trying to take away peoples SUVs and cars because liberals were socialists? Remember that. No the chickens have come home, and gasoline costs over 3.60 where I live.

I was smart enough to study up on the oil market and gasoline sales three years ago and bought a ford focus.  Further, I moved into a cheaper neighborhood that is closer to both of my jobs.  I spend maybe 20 dollars a week on gasoline.

Both jobs are within 5 miles of my house.  The only time I drive over 20 miles in a day is on Fridays (I play softball in the a suburb of Minneapolis, MN but I live across the river in Saint Paul).  Fridays I might drive 30 miles total.  I would say I can go between 10-11 days on 1 tank if I watch my speed and dont waste gas idling at banks, drive throughs or taking forever to warm up my car.

  12. I was asking myself this same question back in 1960 when I was paying .27 cents and it went all the way up to about 34 cents a gallon.

(ANSWER) there IS no limit. It's been going up for 50 years, and will continue, with a few ups and downs here and there.
