How high does a 6'4 person have to jump to dunk?

Well, probably only 2'6" feet off the ground. That means your feet will have to be 2 and a half feet from the ground.

The reasoning is that a 6'4" person should be able to reach at least 8'0". A 6'4" person should generally be able to touch the bottom of the net standing straight. So the jump height to touch rim is approximately 2'. If you factor in the extra height needed to dunk (since touching rim and dunking are two different things), that's about 6' depending on your hang time, how fast you can throw it down, and how far out you're jumping from.

I'd say 2'6" to play it safe as a guarantee that you can dunk. If your arms are longer, I'd say a minimum of 2'2" for you to dunk.

6'4 - average reach for a 6'4 guy would be 8'4.

Lets say u need to get 6 inches above the 10 foot rim to dunk comfortably.

10'6 - 8'4 = 2'2

= 26 inches

So u need a running vert of 26 inches to dunk.

well according to draft express, the 6'4 dwyane wade has a reach of 8'6. however his wingspan is really long so for you your reach prob be a lil lower. you need to get 10'11 to dunk (ball is 8 inches, lose about three inches with ball in hand) so you need a 2 foot 5 or 31 inch  (really not that high) plus running vert.
