  1. There's nothing we can do. Oil is running out and it's in higher demand. Prices will continue to rise until it's all gone.

Same goes for food. There are more and more people and less and less crops to go around. Sooner or later a mass amount of people will start dying of starvation, and then maybe we'll start seeing a lower price. As sad as it is, we just can't afford to save everyone. The Earth can only support so many people, and we're reaching that limit.

I don't feel the need to change my lifestyle because I've been "green" for many, many years and I have a college education so rising cost isn't a problem for me.

  2. about the food prices, well i dont know what i can do. about gas i am looking for other methods to get to work.

  3. What would you suggest we do?

I ride public transportation.  When I do ride in a car, there is more than one person (since I can't drive).

The prices of food are increasing due to the cost of fuel to bring the food from the manufacturer to the consumer.  Until the gas prices have been lowered or alternate fuel is found, there is not much we can do.

I will say that the higher prices in the grocery store are not because of a lack of food.  You would not believe the amount of food that is thrown out every day thanks to a litigious society.  We can't take the left overs from any meal to a shelter because it might make someone ill and that someone would sue the provider.

We pitch more food in the trash than the population in many impoverished countrys have to eat in a week.  It's pitiful.

The servings in restaurants are too large for most of us.  I do take my food home to eat the next day for lunch, but just walk by while the busboy is clearing a table and look at what is being wasted.

I would love to support alternate fuel sources, but with whom do you join?  So many folk have an agenda, how do I know that it is safe to encourage him/her?

This is a good question.  It is time we stopped griping about the problem and do something to add to the solution.

  4. ME?, you mean ME? Don't get me started. Hey I saw it coming a long time ago. Clinton put Thu the National Free Trade deal while in office. (NAFTA) Now we have a stream of trains and trucks coming from every port into the USA with foreign goods and probably 90% are from China. They go all over America and we buy them in stores like Family Dollar, Dollar General, Harbor Freight, Dollar Tree, etc, etc. You can't go to the store and buy anything hardly without the name China on it. This turns China into an industrial nation that we buy from. Then they run the price of oil higher and higher to fuel their factories. Then we go out and buy a 4 door gas guzzling pick up or SUV to match our EGO. and say to h**l with the price of gas, I want my EGO to be happy. Then we elect a daft president that runs the national debt up so that to pay it off (today) would cost every man, woman, AND child $20,000. And then he has the galls to 'buy' us off with money.(rebates checks ) that only makes the debt go even higher. Thank goodness he only got 8 years!! That was 8 years too many. I'm a Texan and I hope when he's out of office, he moves to another state! THERE, I feel better already!

  5. Someone named core answered this up there...^^ well sorry but your opinion does not match mine one bit(not saying thats a bad thing) but think about it...The people who run america are spending our money on a pointless war and OPEC are being **holes...so its not that we are helpless...we are just handeling things the wrong way. We need a new president and more efficient ways of fuel...as humans we will find a way unless GOD wants us gona for good..either way its our fault BUT...the only thing ill do about it is VOTE :) about the only thing...i can do unless i become an inventer...which isnt impossible

  6. gas in America is still lower then the rest of the world.

and i donate to people who research hydrogen fuel cells, so i AM doing something about it.
