How high does pressure get INSIDE a submarine? Like, when a submarine goes way down deep in the ocean, does the air pressure stay about the same or does it go way up? How high does it go up?

  1. The interior pressure stays the same as at sea level otherwise the crew would be as well being outside the submarine with SCUBA gear. The hull is just made of very strong materials to ensure that it does not get crushed.

That's why subs have a depth limit on them - if they went too deep, the pressure would be too great and the submarine would be crushed.

    Jamie.

  2. equal to the water pressure around or it will collapse

the internal pressure is regulated to be high

just look up submarine on wikipedia

  3. depends how deep you are

  4. The pressure is 1A (give or take a few mb or an inch). The strength of the Submarine is from the hull, and is absolutely necassary. If pressure was increased and something happened requiring the submarine to quickly surface the crew would be in dangerous of Nitrosis (the bends) from rapid decompression.

  5. Give Jamie the 10 points. He is absolutely correct.
