How high is this note? Really high to sing? Is it abnormal for most females to hit it?? (video)?

  1. Lol... Are you guys serious?

    I mean Reeeeeaaally. COME ON!

I'm a STRAIGHT guy and even I KNOW who the queen of all high notes are.

Beyonce and Mary's notes aren't even close to impressive. In fact, they SUCK! That's right... watch this video and realize how much better this woman can sing.

You guys make me feel old for knowing this because I thought everyone knew this woman is in her OWN REALM on high notes. She's in her OWN CATEGORY of singing.

NO ONE WILL EVER EVER EVER COMPARE.

And yes, they are extremely impossible to hit so don't try cuz you'll hurt yourself :)

  2. It's not a hard note to sing... but it's not an easy note to BELT without really hurting something.

Of course, it depends on your range too.  If you're an alto, that note may be really hard, whereas if you're a soprano- not so tough.

Both Mary J Blige and Beyonce can go to a C6 though, from a D2 and a B2, respectively.  MUCH more impressive.

*EDIT:  GTonic... I don't disagree that Mariah has a HUGE vocal range (she holds the Guiness World record for it, I believe... A2 -F7)... but as far as learning to have that large of range and expanding it to be like hers... it's very unlikely and pretty much NOT DOABLE by anyone BUT her!  Many females can learn to sing (with the right training) up to a C6.  In opera, a D6 is the average high note for a soprano... it's just a question of proper training and NOT damaging your voice while doing so.

And have you checked out "The Queen of the Night Aria" from Mozart's The Magic Flute?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbBHx2_17...

Pretty much anyone who plays the Queen can hit Mariah's high notes... just not the high AND the low notes... Mariah is known for her huge range.

Also, she has lost about an octave as she's gotten older... her head would explode if she tried to sing that way anymore (lol)... she has done too much damage to herself.   :(

So again, to answer the question, the note which Carrie Underwood hits isn't all THAT high, but belting it is hard and doing so without damaging your vocal chords requires some work, given that it is in your vocal range to begin with.
