How high or fast can people go?

So a lot of world records have broken at this olympic games, which is always good to see. But surely there has to be a limit of how fast/high/far the athletes can go before it just isn't possible to beat it. Take the 100 metres for example. Bolt beat his record and beat it easy. could have gone maybe another .05 faster, maybe got it to 9.6 flat. But then what. Surely it could then be beaten, but also it can't always be beaten, otherwise eventually it would get to 0 secs, which just isn't possible. So where is this world record limit going to be?

  1. thats the idea of timed sports you want your time to be as close to 0 as you can possibly get. 20 years from now what will the rules be like in the olympics? what steroids will be regulated? who knows thats what the olympics are for. to show the world the physical capabilities of each countries athletes. take that phelps guy. this is the first year that new speedo swim suit is being used apparently its more slippery than skin when wet so it improves overall aerodynamics resulting in less energy phelps needs to use to just keep his speed the same rate then look at the track. theres new technology in pools some designed to absorb the energy from the waves hitting the wall when the swimmers do that underwater turn they do when they hit the wall resulting in a faster time

  2. Yes the records will eventually slow down but I expect more improvement in the years to come

  3. My brother has just came back from princeton and I asked him and he said it will probably end at about 8 seconds flat

  4. i think we  just hav to wait and see..

eventually there is going to be a time that a person sets and noone else can beat because we r only human...but we will just hav to see how fast/high people throughout the years
