I love volleyball and would love to play in college, so I was wondering how high a college male athlete should jump, how fast they should be able to run the 40 yard dash, how fast they should run a mile, etc. Please tell any good goals I should set. thanx

  1. well, net height for the male net is 7'11 5/8" .

    Go figure.

  2. A good player should be able to touch 11 feet, top of the antena.

  3. practice practice practice  I've done alot of running and springing  up from a squatting  position my vertical is a  strong51'' sometimes I feel like I'm flying I'm only 5'9''  it amazes some people when they see me for the first time dunking over somebody that I shouldn't be able to dunk over

  4. top of the antenna or around there

  5. Some colleges may have certain standards in these areas but to my knowledge most don't.  All of these things are an asset to a volleyball players arsenal and always need to be improved upon.  Your position could also affect the expectations.

Your best bet is to find your current bests in all these areas and more.  Then set reachable goals so you can get out there and improve.  And then once you reach those goals set more even higher.

  6. For all sports, 40 inches plus is usually an excellent vertical.  For volleyball, height is the number one asset you can have.  Unfortunately, we can't really improve on that as it's a trait we are born with.
