Briefs, or boxer briefs will offer some support, and you'll just look *bigger* rather than hard.  Maybe some pics would help me solve your problem more scientifically! (JK)

If you find boxers are too "restricting" I guess you could wear your boxers high, and your pants low, and act like you think it's "cool", but I don't know how wearing them high helps you.  Does the leg help hold Petie down?
