A 0.040 kg bullet is fired straight up with a velocity of 250 m/s. If 1,000 J of energy is dissipated by air resistance, how high will the bullet go?

  1. Force with which bullet moves up = ma

                       = 0.040*9.81

                       =3.924 N

    Using the famous equation of “work= force * distance d”,

             1,000= 3.924d

                          From which                d =254.842 m

    the bullet will move 254.842 m up
