  1. about 200 feet would  break bone, even using proper diving techniques.. ASSUMING that the plain of water was flat/stagnant.

in physics, gravity during a free fall is -9.81m/s/s, and human hand bones( carpals and metalcarpals would break after phalanges did) break at around 200psi.

So, free falling 10m/s (30ft/sec) for about 6 seconds, would be about 200ft up (about 67meters).. you would enter the water with bonebreaking force.

PRobably if you dove with incorrect form, you could break bone or dislocate something from 100 ft or closer... but Im assuming proper diving technique (hands first)

I dont remember what the measurement was, but Mythbusters DID this on one of their shows.. and they even tried throwing a hammer in first, to break the water's plain... but as I recall it didn't matter...

  2. there is not set height.  it all depends on how you landed on the water and what your body position was when you hit. you could fall off a 10 ft. diving board and land wrong and have serious injuries...or you could jump off a 70ft. bridge and land correct and not get hurt at all.

  3. 60ft is like hitting pavement..

  4. depends on HOW you fall, bad position vs. feet first cross leg jump(good)

  5. That depends on how you fall.  You can injure yourself doing a belly flop off of a diving board.  Just remember that if you don't point your toes and tuck all appendages snug against your body, water is like the ground, with a little give.  Cliff Divers go head first into the water from over 100', but they have their wrists wrapped and try to enter the water like the point of a sword.  They train a long time at lower distances.

Don't forget the depth factor either.  Hitting bottom is bad.

  6. it depends on how you hit it

if you fall at a 180* angle then you will most definetly injure yourself

    lol

  7. It isn't the fall at all.  It's the angle at which your body hits the water.  If you do a belly flop from 50 feet up, you can bet it's going to hurt like a big dog.  If you dive into the water correctly from 200 feet, it won't hurt at all.

  8. Either from 20 foot into the shallow end, head first.

Or as high as 200 feet in cold murky waters, any angle.....
