When was the last time that you ate out and a waiter / waitress asked you if everything was ok, you replied "yes" and it actually was ok?

I tend to find people say its ok even if its not.

  1. No I am paying for the service and the food I expect to get what I want even if it a little  more trouble for the staff

  2. very, infact i got overchanged in a shop the other day and i went back in to let them know but realised it was a tesco and didnt bother, thanks tesco.

  3. Not me, if I don't enjoy a meal or service, I don't leave a tip and have even deducted money from the bill for food I've not eaten due to poor cooking!

Luckily 9/10 times all is good!

  4. im truthfull ...

  5. I would tend to say it was OK, unless it was really bad or upsets the kids. When i kick off i kick off good.

  6. I always use positive words so that others cannot get wounded in thier feelings.  If the food is ok i will say nice and good. If it is not ok i suggest them to improve that sothat it is better next time he makes

  7. lol im an exception,  i complain about the food (but never send it back as you will get all sorts on it lol) or if the service is rubbish i complain..  Im paying for food and service, why should i accept a stropy waiter/ress serving me.

  8. Two and a half weeks ago. The food was good and I let the waitress know, and I even told her to tell the cook "compliments to the chef".

We ate lunch out the other day, and it was ok. And that's what I told her.

But if I have a complaint, I tell them. What are they going to do? Throw me out? Please...I've been thrown out of better places!!!

  9. to tell you the truth i think everyone does that at least one time in their life.

    i mean come on.

  10. .I am honest and if the meal is ok I say so, but if it is not I tell the truth.

I was on a course on Friday about communication - we addressed feedback to a restaurant where everything was not okay.  Then lunchtime - we had a bad experience in the hotel restaurant/bar and needed to explain to the staff what was wrong - late in taking order, late in delivering order, wrong drinks, missing food, poor quantity of sandwich fillings.  We did it in an assertive way and the restaurant staff reduced our bills considerably.

Restaurants (or whatever business) require feedback in order to improve.  If everybody says that everything is okay when it is not, the restaurant will continue to think that everything is okay and will not seek to improve.

Therefore, it is up to everyone to be honest in this situation as it is to their advantage.

  11. Usually I eat at places which are OK....but occasionally I have eaten a poor meal.....it depends...if it is cheap, I don't say much, you get what you pay for....but if it is and expensive place where you are spending lots of money, I expect a good meal and will complain if the standard is poor.

  12. If the food is ok but not great I usually say its ok. If its bad I say. Once I was in a restaurant and the jacket pot was burnt. I returned it and got another burnt one. It was really burnt and if I was a waitress I would have been embarrased to take it out the kitchen. So I complained to the head office by email and got a discount voucher. If the food is not good I don't leave a tip. If its bad and am in a chain restaurant I usally give them one chance and if its still bad I email the company and usually get a voucher. For example I was once in beefeater and was served a drink in dirty glass (lipstick mark). I told the person serving and they poured the drink from the dirty glass into a clean one. I wanted a fresh drink. They did not see a problem with it so I complained to the head office and got a voucher for £10 I think. Once I was in an independant place and the roast checken was still frozen in part so I complained and got it for free. I hate complaining as I feel embarraed but if it is bad I do complain as I feel I have the right to be served food which is able to be eatern

  13. If the waiter is ok then the waiter is ok...if the waiter is a not...then trust..I will let them know.

  14. More honest than most, but depending on the situation as honest as I choose to be. And yes, I usually say the food's okay when occasionally it isn't, I don't like eating spit if the foods been returned to the kitchen.

  15. I'm very honest - if somethings not right I tell 'em

  16. well i beg to driffer, because i am a chef and if i was out and my meal was not ok i would say so and also if i enjoyed it i would say so. not being la de da but if mostly if a meal was not good i would say the customer is always right.

  17. The food has been good. If it is OK I say it is if it is inedible I let them know.  They would rather know than lose a customer.  As long as you are polite about it.

  18. I'm kind of shy about saying something is not ok.  My husband (who put himself through college and grad school working in restaurants) is not afraid to speak honestly when something is wrong.  Usually it is food quality rather than service.  He is very polite to the waiters, but if the food is substandard, he will usually ask for the manager and honestly state his complaints about the food.  It is proper to complain to the manager, not the server.

  19. You get what you pay for if its cheap then you get cheap food and cheap service.

But i do say something if its bad

  20. i am honest

  21. It just depends on my problem, I dont want to upset my waiter/waitress. Who knows what they would do to my food.

But for the most part, Im honest.

  22. I do tend to tell them that erverything is ok, when it's not. Just the other night we had a terrible waitress and were talking about how rude she was when she came to the table to ask " is everything ok" we actually told her yes then went right back to talking about the bad service.  I

  23. I tell them if its really bad.

If I was the restaurant owner, I'd rather know thatn have them never come back.

You just have to do it sensitively.

  24. saturday night at pizza express...cant fault it!
