How hot does it really get in Rome in the summer?

I am going to Rome in late June and keep hearing about how hot it gets and how the heat is unbearable in the summer. But when I look up the general temp for June it says upper 70's - lower 80's, which I don't think is extremely hot (I'm from Florida). Is it the humidity?

  1. Rome gets very hot in the summer Mostly the upper 80's and low 90's

  2. i was there last may and it was hot, but not humid. like mid-upper 80s.

  3. July and until 15 of august is very hot

  4. I'm going there in eight days... I'll tell you

  5. Hi! I live in Rome is very nice and weather is fantastic Today is raining. We have Tevere  and Sea at 30 km in june is perfect

  6. 80's, maybe hit low 90's.  Being from Florida it will be no problem for you. Have fun!!!

  7. I also went to rome in late june in '06. it got very hot, even if it wasnt too hot for you, seeing asyour from florida, you do a LOT of walking (we probably walked 10 miles a day or more) which makes you hotter, and its veryy crowded then :]

  8. Summer in Rome is pretty bad.  Remember that, unlike what I assume Floreida is, there are not many air conditioned places.  And since Rome is a walking city you are out most of the day in the heat.

But June is not bad, it starts getting bad in July and August is the worst.  However, the first time I came to Rome I came in August and it was ok.  Though they are saying that this summer will be the worst in history.  Of it gets hot, just make sure to not go out during the hot afternoon (1-3) and do as Italians do and take a siesta :)

But as I sit here now in Rome, it is chilly and was raining all afternoon... and its beautiful... have a great trip!

  9. going to rome in 4 days time will let you know

  10. Rome in the summer is similar to Atlanta

  11. In June it's not that bad. I gets to about 41 degrees celcius but unlike here there is no humidity so it isn't that bad. Depending on where you go there may not be air conditioning though. But it's all worth it cause everythings so beautiful!
