  1. Find out what kind of beer people like (out of the major macro breweries) and buy that, something like Budweiser or Molson Canadian, that way no one can really complain.

But try and go for 1-4 (high range...I don't know your friends) per hour per person. I think your best of getting 1-2 kegs and some wine ontop of that.

But you could get what you already have plus a little more beer ontop of that and tell them if they want anything else to BYOB.

  2. Bottle of wine 4-6 people

    Case of beer 6-8 people

  3. that sounds about right the wine you can buy boxed for the beer why not buy a keg and mikes hard i do not know you know your friends

  4. The general rule is to plan on 1-2 drinks per hour per person.  So... figure that out.  You might have leftovers, but it's better than running out of choices.  I'm sure you can use leftovers anyway ;)

So, there are 5 drinks in a 750mL bottle of wine.  You can go from there if you want to get a boxed 3L or 5L (5000mL) wine.  For 55 guests, and 4 different wines, though, 20L of wine is 30 drinks per person.

3 Cases of Mike's is enough for 1-2 hours for 55 people.  Similarly, 3 Cases of beer would be another 1-2 hours.  Then for wine, 16 bottles is about 2 hours.  Just figure out whether the group likes beer or wine better.  Or if you're doing wine with a meal, then beer afterwards, you should have enough wine for the meal and a few people who don't like beer.
