Get two electric lawnmowers and use them for the back wheels.   Plug them into a generator in your trunk and go.

Instead of engine use an electric motor which can be driven by the battery.Though battery can be charged by having an alternator  it will not do a proper work .so you have to keep always a spare battery.Instead of petrol pump they must have battery  replacing shops every where .You may have to compromise bit speed etc. but it will work
