If you are willing to travel by Rail, shortest time for reaching Jorhat is......go to New Delhi.........then avail Rajdhani Express from Delhi to Guwahati .........then Guwahati to Jorhat by many trains. Contact your travel agent who will do the job for you.

Another way to travel from Ahmedabad to Jorhat is by Air. Get air ticket from Ahmedabad to Jorhat, which isn't a direct flight .....you have to go Delhi .......Delhi to Guwahati .....Guwahati to Jorhat . Ask your agent to arrange the link Flights by the same airline , otherwise , if the connecting Flight is not available due to delay in between , you stand to suffer a lot . This will be quickest way to reach Jorhat from your place.

You may Fly from Ahmedabad to Mumbai .....Mumbai to Guwahati and then Guwahati to Jorhat , which may be a little more expensive and time taking . Let the Travel agent find for you the shortest route and the most convenient airline that can take you to the destination at the quickest time.

As i know (may be) there is no railway connection to jorhat. Travel up to guwahati by Rail. Then to Jorhat either by air .or. through bus service.

Bus service is available just outside guwahati Railway station, the area called "Paan Bazaar".
