  1. Take a heap of dead ones and sit near them. This may bring psychological change in you.

  2. Tell yourself it is a very intelligent insect that loves humans to bits ................. then stomp on it.

  3. iono go to Fear Factor and have them help u on that

  4. Let me know when you find one cos I hate them too!

  5. get used to them, this way you will control your phobia. btw, keep clean the area you live in, roaches will go away if they found nothing to eat. Seal your doors / windows / sewage, if they come from the outside.  Have you seen them fly? Amazing!

btw, did you know that we are meant to publish questions in spanish in spanish forums?

  6. make irt fun 4 urself look @ catoons or fake roaches and then loook at real onez it wiil ge t better after u see them alot

  7. Remember, bugs are more scared of you than you realize.  Overcoming a fear takes the courage to realize you are in charge of your feelings.

    Be proactive.

Get a good exterminator and send them running away from your home.

If you don't give them a place to live they won't want to move in with you.  ;)

    Keep your living spaces clean.

    1. Clean your cabinets and counters in your kitchen and bathrooms.

    2. Keep all food properly sealed and put away.

    3. Take out your trash often.

    4. Keep your recycling bins and trash cans clean.

    5. Check for and repair leaking faucets and pipes.

  8. seriously, i think you cant put away your phobia in roaches..

  9. If it's really a phobia you might not be able to overcome it at all.  However a lot of things that seem to be a phobia are in fact just habits of thought.  If that's the case you can try to force your mind out of its existing neural pathways, which have hardened over time, and attempt to set a new pathway.  The process is fairly simple, but extremely difficult to execute because your brain will resist any change.  The human body is the ultimate conservative; it doesn't like change.  It wants everything to be the same always.  Trying to defeat an entrenched habit of thought can be physically painful as well as mentally.

The first step is to try to understand the beliefs that underly the fear.  Are you afraid they'll crawl into some corner of your body?  That you'll breathe or eat their f***s?  Or is just that they'll crawl on you which gives you the creeps?  Was there some horrifying experience in childhood that brought about the fear?  Or did you see a movie that gave you a sort of permanent nightmare?

Once the beliefs are identified then they can be evaluated and perhaps changed.  All action is based on belief, even emotional 'actions' such as fear.  If the beliefs can be altered, the rest will follow.  Getting the beliefs to change is no easy matter however.  If you rationally confront false beliefs, they don't just go away.  They might be prerational, such as the permanent nightmare scenario.  You mind is used to the belief, and won't be eager to give it up, no matter what the rational part of your mind directs.

Some of the ways you might change those beliefs are:

Learn everything there is to know about roaches.  Once you become an expert the rational side of your mind might become dominant in that area.

Train your mind to regard roaches as non-threatening.  Get a bunch of little plastic roaches and set them in front of you and consciously delcare that they're not scary, they're just little bugs that can't hurt me, or some other kind of mantra.  You don't need to do this for hours at a time, but consistently and frequently.  Try to force your mind into a new pathway.

Or you could try the shock method like jumping into a sewer full of roaches.  I tend to think that would make it worse, but as you like it.

Once your beliefs are changed the fear will fade on its own.  If it's truly a phobia nothing might help, but obviously this bothers you a lot so it's worth a shot.

FYI I've used this method myself many times, most lately to convince myself I don't hate shopping.  It took about 4 months, but now I can go to the store and take my time getting out, instead of rushing along and fuming at the idiot women who can't drive a SHOPPING cart for heaven's sake etc etc.  One of the things I did to break the habit of thought was ask those idiot women where to find stuff, and lo, they're not idiots after all.   Though they still can't drive a shopping cart.  Good luck!

  10. I don't know, but if you find one let me know.  I hate roaches.

  11. RAID!

I keep my home clean and spray insect spray after wards so far so good. I can't stand them either. I have seen a flying roach in my home and I could not bring my self to kill it cause I hate the crunching sound. I got someone else to do it.

There was a movie about dancing roaches I think it was called Joe's Apartment. Maybe if you watched the movie it may help. Good Luck!
