Which is it... an email group (group created in email so you can send to everyone in the group at once), or a Yahoo Group?  Yahoo Groups are kind of clubs with members that are based on various hobbies, locations interesests, etc. that people join.

If you're creating an email group, you first have to have each person's email on your contacts list.  Then you can create the new group and name it. Then get into your main list view by clicking on "All".  Then find the names, you want to add.  Check the little box next to each person you want in that group. Then click on the "Add to Category", and a list will drop down which will show the groups you have.  Choose the group you want to put them in. That's it.

If you want new members for your Yahoo Group, then you have be sure it's searchable by a name, "Like Joe's Yankee Fans".  If people are looking for a group with Yankee fans, your group would show up on the list.  Or "Joes NY marathoners", etc.
