  1. Go to your local track's racing office.  They should be able to allow you access to the barn area where you can go from barn-to-barn looking for trainers.

  2. I don't know the answer but I'm also interested in getting a hotwalking job (for a little while anyway).  I can tell you what I learned from someone I met at Saratoga's racetrack.   She called an assistant trainer and he said that the best way would be to go from barn to barn and talk to the trainers or assistant trainers themselves.  However, I know that at least at Belmont, that you need a pass to get into the barn area so that's not much help.  I got my previous job because my father knew a trainer.  If you know anyone who works as a hotwalker, groom, exercise rider, jockey etc., ask them to try to get you a pass.  If you send me your e-mail, I think I might know someone who might know the best way to go about this. What track do you want to work at or do you not have any preference? You can e-mail me at noblebarnsey@yahoo.com.  I'll try to help.

  3. It is easy to get a job as a hot walker. All I did was just show up at  the track. I had never even walked a horse in my life and they showed me how to do it. I did it for a month during the fall meet at Churchill downs.
