If you are taking Amtrak.  Then quite frankly you are screwed.  Amtrak's policy says that they will not refund or print another ticket for your journey. You must buy another ticket if you still plan to travel.

Drop in any near by reservation center and tell them your details like Date Of Journey / Train No / Train Name and if you remember the Coach number / berth number. They will issue a new ticket itself.

Reach them before 24 hours of Date of jouney in which they take Nominal amount or 25 % of jouney fare which will reimbursed at the destination station.
