  1. Model it :)

  2. Read books about friendship.

  3. The best way is to be an example yourself, and then casually explain that what you are doing is being friendly, and that people like friends.

  4. I was a preschool teacher for over 2 years. Role Play & hands on activities are key.

  5. I've worked as a Daycare and Preschool Teacher and kids that age don't really grasp the concept I believe of "friendship" and tend to want to play by themselves.  They are just learning the socialization process but perhaps during circle time you can talk about friendship and what it means, have simple fingerplays on friendship or songs, or music, and some books about friends.  Also, you could have them make a simple collage out of magazines showing friends playing together and working together.

  6. friendship usually starts when two or more children have the same interests and by exposing him or her with other children (with your guidance of course).

preschoolers doesn't have an idea of what it means to share and wait for their turns which are the basis of friendship around that age. when the child starts to scream because someone grabbed his car or vice versa you explain to that child the concept of sharing and waiting. i.e. " when ___ is done, you can have a turn". of course most answers you will get is "but its mine " even though that's not always the case.  but you can play around the idea that if someone has the toy that they like, they have to wait for their turn and they won't always get what they want.

  7. all you have to do is play games with them.....two partners in one team....or you can make them interview another person....put easy questions like.."What is your favorite color?"......or....they can ask their own questions.........thats how i learned what friendship was...or even better act it.....explain what you are doing...................................... even read books to them about it

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  8. Many interesting games require at least two players to play.   And any pre-schooler who becomes interested in playing such games will have to behave and treat his playmates well in order to have someone to play  with.

Get him to play such games with others.  And he will learn from his experience.
