How i tell my mom so she dont freak out!?

hi people,

i was just wondering, if it is okay to move in w/ my boyfiend, his 19 and I'm 18, we plan to move in together by jan-feb of nxt yr, which he'll be 20 by march and me 19. his moving to PR bcuz i live in PR(Puerto Rico), his currently living in FL, and the reason we wanna move in together is bcuz of the long distance and bcuz we wanna be together since I'm planning to study over here my bachelors degree, he completely supports me on studying, as a matter of fact, he also wants to start studying here. So the only reason his moving to PR is to be with me, which i really appreciate bcuz that really shows me that his makin a big effort to show me that he loves me, the only problem is how should i tell my mom, when and how??? and it is ok 4 us moving in together, i meen this is somehing we've wished 4 since a very long time ago and we kno w gotta work hard to pay for everything, we both are working and saving $$$ for an apt.

Talk about someone else moving in with a guy to see what she thinks about then a little while later just tell her. You're an adult so she can't stop you.

Some parents are very traditional and might not like that idea at first, but since you are a legal adult and so is he she can't stop you.  She might be mad for awhile but just let her know you've made up you mind and hope she can come to terms with it.

Like others have said, you're 18 years old, and your mom cannot stop you. As long as you and your boyfriend have thought this out and are really committed to it, you have no reason to not go for it. What may help breaking the news to your mom is explaining your decision to her, and telling her about your plans, and that you still intend to go to college. If you explain this in a rational, adult manner, she may be more understanding, and less freaked out. But don't be afraid to let her know if you'll need your mom for guidance and advice. She'd probably feel great about that.

Listen to DR Laura, she will tell you why not!!! She says Dr. Laura Schlesinger calls women who live with men without being officially married "unpaid whores that are shaking up". Why not get married? Whats the hold up? Just wondering? EVER LISTEN TO HER? WOULD YOU WANT YOUR DAUGHTER TO LIVE WITH A BOY before marriage? I dont think so...

Hmm if you guys known each other atleast a few months better a year or 2 just say something like you really want to move in with someone that u really like or something i dunno just better know each other for a while >.> or u'll get a long lecture -.-

You shouldn't sleep with someone before you're married.  Go ahead and move in with him.  But don't be having s*x.

If you're 18 there's really nothing your parents can do to stop you. Just make sure you really have everything figured out as far as money and all that so you can show them you are being responsible.

dont move in with him. finish school and then you can play house. right now you have more important things to do. that's finish college.
