I mean do they actually help you get into colleges. If you have decent grades like 3.4 or 3.3 & you take like 4-5 AP tests & get a 3-5 on it, do colleges really like it, or does the testing not matter that much? My counsleor tells me that some schools don't even look at how much AP tests you took , is that true? Please, i really need adive on this. Thank you.

  1. Not all colleges necessarily take passed AP tests for credits (actually, I think most don't), but even just taking them looks very, very good on a college application.

  2. They are important to get into a good college, and also it will determine the type of classes that you will take and at what level. But, some colleges have a test for people to take when they sing up and that basically does the same thing as an AP test so if you're not satsfied with the grade you have on the AP, then you could take the test at the college IF they have it; most of it depens on the college you apply to.

  3. They only use test to place you in classes. i received 3 A's and 1 B in my AP classes but i never passed none of the test for some reason. unless your going to a University or Ivy league school i dont think they use the AP test for anything besides class placement. i'm doing perfectly fine in college. best wishes!!!

  4. Well my dad is an AP history teacher at Tampa Bay Tech. And compared to those grades I would say very toguh! Here is a tip: try your best!

  5. their are colleges that don't look at AP tests, so you should make sure by checking out whatever college you are planning to go to.  Go to their website or something and see if they give credit for AP tests.

  6. for most schools, if you get a 3-5 on a AP exam, the college will exempt you a certain number of semesters which will save you money. 4-5 AP tests are A LOT it seems like. I took history last year and thought it was really hard but i dont really like history.

  7. While it does depend on the school, the amount of AP's you've taken and how you did on the test definitely does factor into your acceptance. Some schools may not care, but most do since AP is such a widely accepted program. Colleges do like do see you're challenging yourself with harder classes and are impressed when you do well on college-like exams.

  8. AP courses aren't mandatory to get into college. But THEY DEFINITELY DO HELP. I'm pretty sure most if not all 4-year colleges look to see if you've done any AP courses.

  9. If you get a bad grade, your future is ruined. Don't worry though, they're really really hard and you'll probably fail.

  10. umm....REALLY IMPORTANT!

  11. they're important to get into the college you want. after that, they aren't important. so do well on them now, if you intend to get into a particular university that you want, and also avoid taking certain college classes because you can test out of them--that's time and money that you don't have to spend. after this, you won't have to worry about them ever again.

  12. It just depends on the person.

They are very large factor in college credits, but if you have enough extra-curriculars and whatnot, then you might be ok.
