How important are candidate numbers?

In my German speaking exam I think my teacher said the wrong candidate number, will I still get my marks?

  1. if there aren't any students in your class with same name as you, it should work out...u mite wana let ur teacher know just aswell


  2. 99.999999% yes.  Your candidate number was written beside your name on the register which was sent off with your recorded exam and also (if you did AQA) on the piece of paper which goes in with the tape to identify whose exams are on it, again beside your name.  If your teacher realised s/he said it wrong, s/he may have tucked in a piece of paper with the tape to explain this - it is spelt out in the instructions for teacher examiners that you can do this.  In any case, the marker will have had something printed by the exam board to work from.  If your teacher had said your name wrong, rather than the number, that would have been more serious.  You can ask at school for the breakdown of the marks if you can't tell from the paper sheet you are given what you got for each paper.
