  1. It's pretty important, especially on the wedges, because if the clubs faces are stuffed with dirt and sand, which means grooves are stuffed, then the club won't be able to create the spin you needed to stopped the ball on green (or even backspin).

  2. The pros have caddies and notice that the club is always cleaned before returning it to the bag. That is how important it is to the pro.Since the depth of the grooves are limited by the USGA all clubs are manufactured to the acceptable standard. Clean grooves of the club in the hands of a professional result in shots which have backspin or stop dead on the green.

  3. it is even more important to have clean balls

  4. A dirty club can definitely have an adverse effect on your swing and kill your shot. Plus it's just professional to keep your gear clean.

  5. It's the difference b/w landing a ball on the green and it stopping and landing the ball on the green and the ball running off the back of the green.  Clean grooves will give you the right amount of spin to get the ball high in the air and make it land softly.  That can't be done with dirty clubs.

  6. Keeping your clubs clean will aid in a cleaner shot; that is, clean clubs allow for the maximum amount of energy transfer from stick to ball.

Besides, it's a war out there on the golf course. You wouldn't go to battle with a weapon that has not been cleaned would you?!?!?!

Wipe your club face after every shot.
