  1. There is no question about it that Americans buying American cars will improve their economy, But can they afford an American car? That dream will be fulfilled once Americans produce a car with a price tag on par with the imported Japanese car. This argument is in keeping with the American and American enterprise's passion for free market (You ordered for it; you taste it!). Other alternative is devalue dollar so that the prices are on par. Is such a thing possible; will it confirm to free economy?

  2. Either way were spending money.

If we make our own cars here, it costs money for designs, and also the parts.

Then buying from other countries, of course we have to pay.

In the end...it probably would cost less if we spent it here.

  3. Ford, GM, and Chrysler cars are mostly made in Canada.  Toyota makes 12 different models in the US.  So, which one is the American made car?

  4. AMERICAN CARS HELP OUR PEOPLE AND OUR ECONOMY. FORD IS COMING OUT WITH A NEW GAS /CELL BATTERY CARS THAT ARE BETTER ON FUEL.

  5. The funny thing is .. that you shouldn't even be thinking of buying a foreign car unless it's a secondary car. Your primary concern when shopping, especially a high ticket item such as a car, is how does this affect my country's economy as well as my well being.  Well as we can all see right now, american's need a wake up call..no better yet a slap in the face.

We have a HUGH national deficit. It's not the government's fault. It's your fault and mine. American's are probably the only people in the world who just don't really THINK before they buy and buy and buy. We buy so much JUNK from other countries.. especially CHINA.. it all ends up in a landfill eventually and you can here the rush of money leaving the country forever.  All the while the Chinese and Japanese just keep laughing at how stupid we are.

American car's are too expensive for you? Really? Well you might want to look into the fact that foreign car manufacturers sell below cost to undermine our domestic market. Most other foreign manufacturers do to.  So the next time you see one of those glitzy foreign car commercials.. change the channel.

We desperately need to stop buying foreign goods ASAP. We need to start mass manufacturing of all the goods we need here in our country and abandon those US companies that moved their operations abroad..they turned their backs on us..we do not need them.. we can rebuild our country anew!

We will probably go down in history as the only super power country to go backwards into becoming a 3rd world country.. all because of our stupidity and greed.. God help us all

  6. Alot of forgein companies are proclaiming that they are American cars because the are assembled here. However, all the parts are made and designed elsewhere, plus the company is based somewhere else. So when you do buy a foregein car, a large portion of your money does go overseas (exactly how much depends on the individual manufacturer). However, when you buy a domestic car, that dosn't mean all the money stays here. Many domestics have some of the parts made in Canada, but that is ussually on the vehichle info at the dealership. Besides, money we send to Canada is more likely to come back that money we send to Japan or Germany.

Another factor in your desicion is that much of the hype around imports is simply reputation. There was a time when imports were way more reliable, affordable and econmomic that doesmetics, but that time has passed and many of those beleifs are based on old reputations from the 80s and 90s.
