  1. Well it makes veggie meals a little bit more interesting and provides a different taste and texture but as for the stuff it provides, it's not that much different to beans etc for the protein and fibre provided.

I prefer them as a substitute sometimes as they're less fatty/greasy than meat products and give my digestive system a rest from heavy foods.

  2. Not important at all - hard to digest and made with eggs from battery farms. Don't eat it! Go vegan!!

  3. its not needed at all

  4. I don't eat Quorn products because they contain egg.

  5. not that important.

it just provides a bit of variety.

    and it a nice alternative.

  6. not that important,

im veggie and i dont eat quorn that often.

    but it is useful because you can make meat dishes but relplace the meat with quorn;

eg casserole replace mince meat with quorn mince :)

  7. It's a convenience food..that's all.

  8. Quorn is not essential for a vegetarians diet, but some vegetarians choose to eat it so that they get the right amount of protein in their diet. I don't eat Quorn because i think it tastes revolting, but to make up for the lost protein, i eat eggs quite a lot.

  9. not very. they were recalled in the past. they are processed. there are other protein alternatives that are more minimally processed...such as hummus, natural nut butters, beans, and nuts!

  10. Quorn, just like any other heavily processed food, is much less important than veggies, grains, beans, nuts, seeds, soy (milk, tofu, etc), and fruit in a vegetarian diet.  The processed foods do add another dimension of flavor and texture sometimes.  However, I made a great veggie burger out of walnuts, oats, breadcrumbs, flax, and seasonings yesterday without the use of any processed foods so many of the ready made foods are quite possible to be made from scratch at home.

Bottom line - Quorn not important. :)

  11. Depends on what else you eat. If you're not a great veg lover, then Quorn or any other meat substitute will be good for you. But if you like all veg and fruit then you wouldn't necessarily need to eat it.

Actually a lot of veggies don't eat meat substitutes, as they have never eaten meat, so why would they need a replacement?

  12. Its a source of protein but no more so than soya products

  13. it is a protein substitute - as long  as you get enough protein from somewhere it doesn't necessarily have to be from Quorn
