I found a flower stamen in baltic amber that I polished. It seems to me that there might be a chance that DNA would be extractable or some junk!

  1. The importance of pollen in any sort of amber is that it gives a great deal of information to paleobotanists about what plants were flourishing at the time. The chance of getting any functional DNA form it is as close to zero as you can get. The film Jurassic Park made a fundamental mistake by saying that the DNA came from Dominican amber which was not formed until millions of years after the dinosaurs were extinct.

  2. as it is very cool, it is still highly unlikely that DNA would be extractable. jurassic park is fiction. at this day in age anyways. in 20 years, maybe.

    make it a good day
