How important is it that the rest of the world supports Obama?

Recent surveys show that the world is watching and they would rather see Obama in office.

With our ardently interventionist foreign policy and the fact that the U.S. is the most influential country and economy in the world, should we consider the rest of the world when they may have a huge stake in this election as well?

  1. Considering that they don't have a vote, it's technically not important in the election itself. But considering that Obama could be our ambassador to the rest of the world, it is extremely important to the world's opinion of the U.S. I think that is a good thing because he is very popular internationally, and this is a perfect opportunity to improve our image. But this is democracy, and Americans should consider voting for the candidate we believe in. If that is McCain, so be it. Either way, this election will affect the whole world.

  2. If it's true that "everybody else in the world hates America" why would anyone vote for a president everybody else supports?  Wouldn't it be logical to assume they want the worst for us and we should do the opposite?

  3. Who the heck cares who the rest of the world wants? It is not their election. We can not cast our votes based on what somebody in France wants. That is wrongheaded, and very dangerous.

  4. I could care less about the rest of the world. Most other countries are worthless anyway. And you don't see people trying to escape from America, they are all trying to get in here.

The mass media and the leftists have convinced you that other people hate America. That is your problem, not ours. Don't be so gullible.

  5. It's not essential... but it SURE doesn't hurt. After 7 LONG years of watching the World shake its head in disgust at Bush, it'd be a NICE change to be "smiled upon again"- as an American...  :)

  6. How important? The rest of the world supported John Kerry too-it means nothing except it gives Obama supported something to brag about-which is a good thing considering what a lightweight he is.
