How important is mouse DPI for gaming?

right now im using a logitech mediaplay mouse. it has 800 dpi. i do game alot, so i'd like to know if i should invest in a new mouse with better dpi.

if you game allot the DPI should be known to you its dots per second the mouse will read in RPG its good to have a fast mouse and somewhat in FPSs. its mostly personal preference i love fast so the most DPI for me is the best if you cant decide get a variable mouse i personally couldn't use a computer unless it had a razor 4000 DPI mouse after you use it you cant go back razor is the best mouse i have ever used Logi could never touch this mouse.

DPI is at the top end of the game. If your already pretty good and need more of an edge upping your DPI is worth it. Also the newer generations of Gaming mice have alot more going then just higher DPI. http://www.progamergears.com/gaming-mous... has some reviews
