  1. I find respect to be a very important factor in friendships, well basically in all relationships (romantic, family, work etc) because respect is that which enables a person to accept his / her loved one for who and what s/he really is.  Respecting one's individuality, freedom etc. will pave the way to a smoother sailing relationship.

I respect all people for I believe all humans and everything in this world deserve respect in one way or another but I believe too that there are degrees of respect and I certainly can not be friends with someone whom I have very little respect on.

  2. i'll try to go the other way around.

in real friendship there should be some degree of disrespect, where you can bash around some areas of your friends life, respect is when you dont go where you shouldn't be.

  3. very, very important. it's the foundation of your friendship. if you don't respect someone, it would be hard to trust him/her, which what friends usually does, trust each other. i'll give you an example. i clicked a link which led me to a blog (here in yap) and as i read the comments, i saw a guy revealing the conversation of their group, which i think is a very sick thing to do to a friend, if you care enough to call them friends. now, they don't respect each other anymore. not to mention that he is a guy, fighting with a girl hahaha. i pity him.

  4. Respect is a crucial part of any relationship, be it platonic, or romantic. It is needed almost in every place and in every circumstance, work, school, home, even on Y!A. Because no one is perfect, and people differ from one another, respect is the most useful virtue to keep relationships and societies in order.

  5. Respect is important. It is unthinkable to have friendship between people who do not respect each other. That is why friendship is earned. First of all by gaining each other's respect.

  6. no,not friends, acquaintance's maybe, i sometimes can respect enemy's if they are deserving
