so i was supposed to go to a follow up visit a month after i had the mirena iud put in so the doc could check the string or something.. but 2 weeks after i had the procedure done, i lost my insurance benefits. so i canceled my follow up visit. is it really THAT important to have a follow up? im thinking of just going to like a planned parenthood or something but want some opinions, maybe from a obgyn or someone who has this iud as well.

  1. I think its because it can move, and also because there is a slight chance of infection when you first get it put in. So if you can get checked out at planned parenthood or somewhere like that, it seems like it would be a good idea.
