  1. You should do your own homework.  What did the alliance systems do?  How did they tie nations together... ever throw an anchor off the side of a boat?  What happens to the line and everything attached to it?


  2. The alliance system did not make the war inevitable. It meant that once a war began that many more countries would be involved other than the two who had a problem with each other. This difference is important. Think for a moment what would be our situation now if Georgia had been allowed into NATO. We would now, with most Eurorean countries, be at war with Russia.
