How important will robotics become in the next 20 years?

Everyone is aware of the huge leaps and bounds that modern electronics has come in the last decade. The unlocked potential that exists there has huge possiblities in many fields. Please tell me your ideas and thoughts on this facinating field that is promised so much focus (I am not involved in the field myself, just curious of what people think.)

I think that robots will play a huge roll in life in the next 20 years. Already robots are helping our economy greatly. How else would GM or Ford be able to pump out all of these vehicles?
