A trade like machining, welding etc.. I've never had training, even during highschool. Im 25 years old and feel im starting to get too old and need to make a decision soon.

I've asked local shops and most won't hire w/o experience or just aren't hiring (plus I need an employer that will actually allow me to further my education (i dont mean for them to pay just for them to sign off saying i worked the proper hours))

Also the schools require you to already be working in a trade in order to get into one of their programs, which doesn't really make sense to me b/c i cant get into a trade w/o some education.
