How in the heck did the Penguins goalie trip himself up getting on the ice in game 2?

I think he misjudged the width of his equipment with the width of the door. He thought he could make it through without having to turn sideways.

Classic clip for years to come...on the plays of the year for sure.

That was game 1, and when I say "oh, no." knowing they were way too nervous to play well in that game. They're not (especially Malkin and Staal) playing anywhere near their potential, and won't if they can't loosen up a little.

As previously answered, this was in game #1. I sat directly across the ice from the pens bench and after the opening events as they began to remove the carpets I thought wow thats too close to the players entrance, someones going to trip! sure enough Marc was the first to take the ice for the pens and he indeed made an unforgettable entrance. Unfortunately for myself and other pens fans that heckeled wings fans prior to the start, they quickly responded to us! Oh well, I hope the pens gan get back and stay on their feet for a good series.

He laughed about it, too. Good for him. He tripped on a piece of carpet or something near the door. Wasn't watching where he was going, and it's been his habit to come charging onto the ice.

He has been really great about making fun of himself about it and says he "practiced" getting on the ice so it wouldn't happen again.  He was just excited and I don't blame him!  It's the Finals for gosh sakes!
