Question:

How in the world can I begin to run up to 6-7 miles?

Someone told me on YahooAnswers that even though I am a sprinter/hurdler (I run the 100m,300m,and 400 sprint), I should learn to run a lot of mileage to really work on my endurance. I can already easily run 2 miles. But that's about it. :O

So how can I build up to this ultimate goal?

Btw, all I'm trying to do is excel in Track and Field next year and run under 60 seconds in the 400m. And of course continue to beast in hurdlers (lol). This year was my first year running the 400m and my best is a 64sec. (ehhh) Like I said, sub-60 is the goal!!!

Peace

  1. i do 400s and sprints like that.

i get like 66 seconds so im not that great.

but what we did was 600 sprints so you sprint the whole time like the 400. it work son endurance. otherwise i am a cross country runner to so i dont have a problem running distance either. just start low with a few miles a 2-4 times week and start to build up and eventually go more often. it works. hope it helps.

  2. Start with some shorter runs and gradually build up to it.
